As we come to the end of Module 5, I’d like you to pause for a moment and reflect on one simple but profound question.
Why do students remember certain teachers for the rest of their lives?
Years later, many students won’t remember every lesson we taught or every worksheet we handed out. But they will remember how we made them feel. They will remember whether they felt seen, respected, encouraged, forgiven, and loved.
That is exactly what this module has been about.
Now it’s time to reflect honestly on your own practice. For this activity, you’ll complete a Student-Teacher Relationship Self-Assessment. Complete it at least after a month or so of school as that will give you enough time to start establishing meaningful relationships with your students.
