Course Overview

• Course Title: Preparing for the First Days of School with Ikhlāṣ, Purpose, and Iḥsān – An Integrated Tarbiyah Approach
• Course Code: TEACH101
• Prerequisites: None
• Delivery Format: online, self-paced using videos, readings, quizzes, reflection activities
• Tools and Resources: Computer (for best experience), Internet connection, Printer
• Success Criteria: A score of 80% is required to pass each quiz. Learners can retake a quiz as many times as needed to pass the quiz. Learners are encouraged to review the feedback provided upon completion of each quiz before retaking the quiz.
• Certificate: Learners will receive a certificate upon completion

Course Description

First impressions are the most lasting! Knowing how to structure a tarbiyah driven successful first day of school and the first few days of school will set the stage for an effective classroom and a successful school year. In this hands-on, self-paced, online micro course, teachers will use the Prophetic model of teaching with tarbiyah to prepare for the first days of school using a set of carefully curated time and teacher tested resources.

What learners will be able to do after completing the course:

1. Integrate the key principles of the Prophetic tarbiyah framework of teaching and learning from DAY 1!
2. Establish classroom routines and expectations that reflect Islamic values and cultivate a positive learning environment.
3. Create a detailed first-days-of-school plan that intentionally builds relationships, classroom culture, and student engagement.
4. Develop a personalized implementation plan for beginning the school year with purpose, ikhlāṣ, and iḥsān.
